Danville · Alamo · Walnut Creek East Bay · Truckee / Tahoe · Loomis Area
Rhodes Construction is a father-and-son deck builder serving Danville, Alamo, Orinda, Lafayette, Moraga, Walnut Creek, Berkeley, Piedmont, San Ramon and the surrounding East Bay. We also serve Truckee / Tahoe and the Loomis / Greater Sacramento area. Build a new deck or replace an aging one with a plan tailored to your property. We design and build Trex composite, PVC and wood decks with coordinated railings, stairs and picture-frame details. From ground-level decks to elevated outdoor living spaces, Rick and JT help plan the layout, materials and construction scope around your home.
Deck replacement starts with assessing the existing framing and supports. We review the deck's condition, layout and access, then define the work for framing, footings, decking, railings and stairs. Existing framing is reused only when suitable for the agreed project.

Trex, PVC & wood
Compare composite, PVC and wood options for the look, maintenance and budget you have in mind. Rhodes Construction is a TrexPro contractor.

The finishing details
Picture-frame borders, stair layouts and railing choices bring the design together. We build with coordinated wood, metal or cable railing options, and plan the fasteners, framing connections and finish details around the selected materials and project scope.
Start with your ideas
A plan that fits your project.
Every project is tailored to your property and priorities. Size, materials, access, structural work, permits and finish details all affect the estimate.
Tell us what you have in mind. We’ll review the scope and help you explore options that fit your goals and budget.
You’ll work directly with Rick and JT. We discuss your ideas, location and timing, then help you explore the design and materials. Construction dates depend on the agreed scope, approvals and schedule.
Elevated decks, framing & foundations
An elevated deck needs a coordinated plan for its supports, framing, railings, stairs and connection to the home. Rhodes Construction takes on structural deck work, including hillside projects and properties with limited access. Required engineering and approvals are identified during planning; engineering services and fees are defined separately in the project scope.

Before we build
A few useful answers.
Can you help me work out a realistic budget?
Yes. Tell us the approximate deck size, height, existing condition and materials you are considering. We can discuss the scope and budget before moving into detailed planning.
Can I see the design before construction?
We offer free 3D renderings to help you explore the layout and materials. We first discuss your project goals, budget and property so the design has a practical starting point.
How do I choose between composite, PVC and wood decking?
We compare the look, maintenance, budget and conditions at your property. We can review Trex composite, PVC and wood options alongside your railing and stair design. The selected product's installation requirements help determine the framing, fasteners and finished details.
Do you take on smaller projects?
Smaller projects are considered based on the scope, location and schedule. Choose the appropriate budget range in the form and tell us what you need.
Do you replace the framing or just the deck boards?
It depends on the existing structure. We assess framing and supports before defining the scope. A replacement may include footings, posts, beams, joists, decking, railings and stairs; resurfacing is considered only where the existing framing is suitable.
Do you build elevated decks on hillside properties?
Yes. Elevated decks, hillside conditions and limited access are part of our work. We review access, supports and the connection to the home during planning and identify any required engineering and approvals. Engineering services and fees are defined separately in the project scope.
Which areas do you serve?
We serve Danville, Alamo, Diablo, Blackhawk, Walnut Creek, San Ramon, Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda, Pleasanton, Dublin, Livermore, Berkeley, Piedmont, Oakland, Hayward, Discovery Bay, Bethel Island and surrounding East Bay communities, plus Truckee and Lake Tahoe, as well as Loomis, Granite Bay, El Dorado Hills and the Greater Sacramento area.
